15 JanThe week in Viral Videos according to the Daily Beast – or How did I miss some of these

If you don’t know by now – I am addicted to the summaries of weekly viral videos  at the Daily Beast.  This week’s list (see here) contained some obvious ones (Conan and Leno Jokes, my personal favorite is Jimmy Kimmel on the Leno Show berating him.. though prefer the unedited version – seen for now – here

some awesome but sill awesome ones (Pants on the Ground)  some befuddling ones (Limbaugh berating a female listener for having tampons between her ears for not understanding his argument about how the tragedy in Haiti positively affects the President, Glen Beck and Sarah Palin Moments, and Pat  Robertson).

But intermixed in these were some I missed – which, where I can I will share both the link and the video below (if not I will just point to the link).  My only question is how – and what is going on with the world?

1) Cat, Dog and Dog share Watermelon – something which would not interest Peebes in the least and Algy would eat in a much less clean way.  Very odd, but very cute – and I want to know how the owners addicted the animals to the thing.

2) Jeniffer Love Hewitt continues to frighten me and overshare with the world.

3)  Obama! the German Musical.  (In English)

4)  Sherri Shepard reads Sex by Madonna  What more needs to be said?

But the two best clips I saw this week – summing up the weirdness of the week in politics (more Palin news from both books and joining Fox news) and the sadness of the extremes of our culture which can’t even come together for people who have been decimated but need to politicize even true Acts of God come from the Daily Show last night.

The first spoofs Beck and Palin’s first interview – a bit I heard last night and then again on the Morning Briefing on the Sirrus/XM Channel POTUS, a station I listen to often.   Click on the link to see it.

The second calls out Limbaugh, Pat Robertson, and of course Rachel Maddow for politcizing the decimation of Port Au Prince.

For those that wish to redeem themselves after seeing people politicize a horrific tragedy – here are some Aid groups doing good work in Haiti.

Partners in Health

Care

and the American Red Cross

For those that wish to know more about Partners in Health, and the problems facing Haiti prior to the Earthquake I recommend Moutnains Beyond Mountains by Tracey Kidder focusing on the work  of Dr. Farmer.
