23 OctFogged in

Currently I am in the mountains of Western North Carolina for a family reunion of my mother’s family – most of whom I have not met or if I have met them I have not seen them in years.  I spent the morning taking Algy to the vet for a torn toenail, the second of the season but even so the day is coming together well outside of my typical annoyance at my family due to my exhaustion and the volume of noise at any given moment.

It is a great day, one that is so foggy the view cannot be seen, all we can see is the leaves on the nearest trees, the fog and the rain.  The family has mostly left for a while , and my brothers are playing music with a fire going.  And outside of a few obnoxious calls for beer – it is oddly perfect and is calling me to nap.

Days like this were made for fires, hot chocolate, books and regeneration; add to that my family and cousins and sounds like a good day to me.  Being fogged in can be oddly perfect.   I am off to sleep while I can – it promises to be a long few days and nights which will hopefully be a good mix of catching up, and relaxation.
